The Officially Wacky BoolProp Challenge Rules

The Officially Wacky BoolProp Challenge is the official game challenge of BoolProp FighttheAddiction False, it is also officially wacky. Every member that completes and logs this challenge will be rewarded with bonus points within the challenge and an official medal here at BoolProp. Best of luck, if you choose to line up your flamingos and face the music with your smustle face on!

Basic Challenge Layout
This challenge runs for three generations, this count does not include the founders. So, basically, a four generation legacy challenge.

The spirit of this challenge is one of fair, fun, challenging play. In that spirit:

-No cheats such as maxmotives shall be permitted, testingcheatsenabled may only be used to fix bugs or to create pregnancies in same sex couples. Building cheats are allowed.
-No hacks that unfairly affect gameplay to your advantage are permitted. Hacks that are purely cosmetic, fix bugs in the game, or save your fingers from unnecessary clicks are permitted as long as they do not unfairly give you advantage both in the main challenge and any additional mini-challenge you take on.
-You may, of course, use any means necessary to salvage your game, your family and this challenge from any horrible glitches that come your way.

The challenge ends when the child(ren) of the third pregnancy of the third generation reaches adulthood.

Rules
-Each generation, starting with the founders, must have three pregnancies. If your Spouse dies before the third pregnancy you must find another way to pro-create, if you grow too old you must use Elixir, Spawn babies from PlantSims do not count for the three pregnancies. Additional children through pregnancy or adoption are permitted. If you skip out on a pregnancy during a generation it's -10 points for each pregnancy missed.
-Same sex partners are allowed but they must woohoo before you are allowed to use the Tombstone of L&D each time you make one pregnant.
-When it comes time for an aspiration you must roll a die in standard legacy style. You may re-roll in college if you have University. If you have Nightlife number six becomes Pleasure.
-If you want a secondary aspiration you may give your Sim one but you must roll for it in standard legacy style. Once you come to the aspiration you already are you just skip it. For example, my Sim is a Family Sim (normally a 4) I start at Fortune (1) and going clockwise count Knoweldge (2), Romance (3) skip Family and go to Popularity (which is now 4), Pleasure (5), Grilled Cheese (6). As always if you don't have Nightlife than 6 is whatever you want. Just start at Fortune and count clockwise skipping the greyed out aspiration.
-Heir polls are required. Heir polls must include all of the children from the mandatory pregnancies. Children related to the founder by blood from additional pregnancies or via Sporeing are allowed on heir polls but their presence is optional. Smustling pics showcasing the heirs are a plus!
-Graves may not be sold, deleted, or moved off the lot. Whether or not ghosts are free roaming is your choice, though.
-You may not hire a maid, gardener, nanny, repairman or obedience trainer for the duration of the challenge. No Mods to do your dirty work! Robots are allowed, they're not human. :D
-If a child that resulted from one of the three mandatory pregnancies is taken by a social worker -10 for each child. Any additional children through non-mandatory pregnancy or adoption that are taken results in -3 points, if the child was a Bad Apple (see Mini-Challenges), whether or not from a mandatory pregnancy, only -3 points.
-The Drew Rule, if something breaks it can only be repaired at noon, new stuff that breaks after noon can not be repaired until noon this next day.
-An Army of Flamingos, you must have three pink flamingos on the lawn for every non-pet member of the household. If someone kicks them over you must straighten them back up every morning (between sun-up and noon) during "Roll Call", also if your flamingos are stolen or burst into flame you may replace the lost and burnt flamingos at this time as well. You may not fence your flamingos off they must be accessible and kickable.
-Obtain at least one monster (either an alien, zombie, vampire, servo, werewolf, plant sim, big foot or genie) through the course of the challenge. You need a forum mascot, don't you? Failure to obtain said mascot results in -30 points.
-Passive mood boosting items such as flowers, idols, quills or souvenir collections are prohibited. Souvenir collections that do not affect needs are permitted. Active mood boosters such as the energizer and the noodle soother are permitted.
-Your founder may go to college prior to starting this challenge if you wish.
-You may start on any size lot, with or without a pre-built house, that your Sims can afford either straight out of college or straight out of the bin. Just make sure it's a good enough size to stay on for the duration of the challenge for a family that's going to average about five Sims if not more. You cannot start out in an Apartment.

Bonuses
All of these bonuses are one time only bonuses unless specified otherwise. You may only choose to do three groups of bonuses (Base Game, Nightlife and Open For Business OR Nightlife, Open for Business and Pets, etc). You must complete all three bonuses in order to earn the points for the given expansion pack.

If you only have one expansion pack start the challenge with nine points, if you only have base start with eighteen.

The one bonus you can do, regardless:
-For finishing the challenge and posting it to the exchange/your blog/a thread/etc. (3 Points)

Base Game

-For going one whole generation, from birth to birth, without getting ANY promotions. (3 Points)

-For creating a vampire. (3 Points)

-For running a business from the founding through to the end of the challenge. Business must be started by founder sometime before their death. (3 Points)
-For creating a servo. (3 Points)

Pets

-[Pets Not Required!] Keep a tank full of fish alive from the founding through to the end of the challenge. (3 Points)

-Heir and Spouse must reach Level 10 in their Predestined Hobby. (3 Points, 1 Point for each heir/ess couple)
-Obtain a Genie. (3 Points)

Apartment Life
-Must have a Mysterious Bookcase that leads into a Mysterious Place, you must build it yourself. Be creative! Need to see pictures of this room or hallway or passageway. (3 Points)
-Have a spare with spouse live in apartment and play them the same time as your founder’s family (equal time). Can have as many children you like, as long as one continues the line. (3 Points, 1 Point for each generation played)
-Obtain a Witch (3 Points)

Mini-Challenges
You may take on as many or as few of these as you like.

BoolProp Naming Scheme (10 Points)
Naming the first generation's three children names that start with B, O and O. The second generation's children would be given names that start with L, P and R. The third generation's children would be given names that start with O, P and C (for Com, of course!). If twins are born they count as one letter, tough bananas! Name them both with the letter the one child would have been assigned and then you must have another child. So if I had my first generation heir have a boy that I named Larry, then a set of twins I would name them Peter and Paula, because they only count for one letter, I would then have to have them try for another baby to get a Rachel. Additional children born/adopted whether intentionally or accidently are considered outside the naming scheme and can be named whatever you want.

Cowforbrains' Ghost Hunt (10 Points)
Three Sims must die a generation, starting with the birth of first generation, at least one of those deaths must be a member of the bloodline! Who will it be and why? You cannot kill a Sim the same way every time. You are required nine deaths over the course of the challenge, and they each must be unique. The uniqueness is in the methodology not the ghost color. Having one Sim be electrocuted repairing the computer and another die after being struck by lightening are considered two unique deaths. Having one Sim die from repairing the computer and another from repairing the TV are considered the same death. Accidents count as long as they are unique!

One Bad Apple (10 Points)
Every generation one of your children will just plain be a bad apple. You get to choose which child it is at birth. It may not be a PlantSim baby. Once chosen you cannot change it. A bad apple cannot be controlled until adulthood. If you select them their aspiration display/needs/etc must be completely collapsed. You may not view their wants and fears, you may not view their needs, you may not view anything that you cannot already see with all of the interface fully collapsed. As a toddler, child and teen you cannot control them at all. (Their aspiration will most likely decay and when they are a teen they will truly be a bad apple!) The only way you may have a sibling do their homework for them is if they have, at minimum, a 50 daily relationship. You may not send them to college until you get the two day pop up. If they go they must abide by Simself rules (this does not include being able to see their wants and needs, etc, those must still remain hidden to you). They may then be placed on academic probation by the first semester and be expelled on the second, they may not drop out, they must be expelled. You also can attempt to play them through college without viewing their academic standing, wants, needs, etc if you wish. Keep in mind you will need to prep them with skills before they go to college, in that case. Otherwise they won't do very well for very long no matter how many classes they go to! Once an adult they must continue on as they did in college by Simself rules as before stated, at this point you may also just move them out and then play them as you wish. Having the Bad Apple be taken by a social worker or die before reaching adulthood causes you to lose this mini-challenge. You may purchase aspiration rewards and lifetime rewards that your Bad Apple has rightfully earned. You may also view their LTW. BUT, you may only do those three things once they are in college and not before.

Bad Apples on dates? Yes, you may take them on dates and it was finally decided that, yes, you can view their wants BUT you may only fulfill those that apply to the date (going out to eat, and photo booth wants count as do those such as talk/flirt/kiss). And, of course, you can not control them, but you may influence them as always. They want to buy a TV? Too bad! Do not fulfill it until after the date is finished. Collapse their date want panel before clicking End Date. No locking of wants for the Bad Apple. Period.

Simself Mania (10 Points)
So you want to marry in Simselves? They have special rules if you do, and special bonuses. You must marry in one each generation, starting with the founder and ending with the second generation heir. Free will must be on at all times. You are allowed to give them a max of eight commands every 24 hours. These commands reset, they do not accrue. Use 'em or lose 'em. Keep a pencil and paper handy and mark it down when you give a command and keep track. During the rest of the time their crazy antics must be endured. These commands do not include canceling a former interaction. You may do so only if you are lining up a new one. If you are not going to line up a new command then you may not cancel the interaction. There are other ways of getting Sims to stop what they are doing, no matter what it is, without controlling them.

The Golden Trio (10 Points)
[Requires Triplets and Quads] A generation of your choice must give birth to triplets. You may name each of the babies after a different letter in the naming scheme if you go for this, you are also exempt from the three pregnancy rule that generation. Additional trio rules apply. You must have each triplet learn all three toddler skills (walk, talk, potty) as well as the Nursery Rhyme if you have Free Time as a toddler, max three skills and three interests of your choosing as a child, make three best friends (outside of the family), earn 3,000 Simoleons, and complete the golden trio of getting an A+ in school, getting into private school, and reaching the top of their teen career as a teen. Additional children may be born after the triplets, the trio rules do not apply to them.

Raised by Wolves (10 Points)
[Pets Expansion is required!] You must have the founders bring in two wild wolves and breed them to make puppies. You can have until the end of first generation to bring in the initial set of wolves. Raise the puppies and choose one to be heir and again select another wild wolf to be their mate. Spare puppies may be discarded, heir and spouse wolves must be kept until death. Continue the wolf bloodline until the end of the challenge. Keeping the wolves tame and from each other's throats is your job, wrecking your furniture and scaring away the neighbors is there's! It's almost like they were raised by wolves or something.

Beyond Cheesy (10 Points)
[Any Expansion or Stuff Pack that gives your Sims inventories is required!] Your Sims may only ever, ever, ever eat grilled cheese. Since it requires two cooking skills and can only be served at lunch I suggest you plan accordingly. Stock up serving platters in your inventory, or if you have Seasons in the fridge. They may drink hot chocolate, or something from the juicer, etc. But if it's food it has to only be Grilled Cheese, anyone in the household eating anything else makes you lose this mini-challenge. Otherwise, morning, noon and night your Sims will eat, breathe and live the glory and wonder and majesty of grilled cheese. Whether they like it or not.

One sim, and only one, can eat the three dishes for Bon Voyage as long as that sim is on that vacation spot and can only eat it once to get the memento. After that, it's all cheese. So make sure you packed your cheese before you go on vacation.

Your sim does not have to be a "grilled cheese" sim in this mini-challenge, but it would make it easier.

BoolProp Clubhouse (10 Points)
[Open for Business Expansion required!] Your founding generation must open up a community lot, BoolProp Clubhouse, and run it from then until the end of the challenge. The founder must do so sometime before their death. The Clubhouse must be a venue but can include a restaurant/gift shop/beauty parlors or whatever else if you like. It must reach Level 10 by the end of the challenge. Having plenty of Simselves be in the neighborhood to come by and party is a plus! How much you charge for it, or how you furnish it or run it is up to you. You cannot just let the lot sit though. The day after you get the pop up that you got 0 Simoleons from the business you must go back to run it again.

Quad Pod (10 Points)
[Seasons & Nightlife Required!] You must have a PlantSim spawn four pod babies one right after another. If the last spawning results in twins then four of the pods are up for the challenge and the fifth you can do whatever you like with. Once the Quad attains adulthood you have one Season to make all four PlantSims into Vampires. For example if it is three days until the end of Summer you have until three days until the end of Fall to make them all Vampires. Your new Vamp/PlantSims (Vants? Plamps?) must get jobs in the Slacker Career via the newspaper (and via the newspaper only), their goal is to become Professional Party Guests and surely their vibes from their Spores of Happiness and their Blehs of terror will light up the place. Each must also unlock the Slacker Career Reward so they have someone outside of the Quad to commune with in their predicament.

Matriarch aka Dor's Challenge (10 Points)
At Dor's request this has been added as an official mini-challenge! You must have your female founder and each of the heiress' get her three pregnancies from someone outside of the family. You may not marry the father (or mother) or move them in. The heir must be female if, through all male births or a bad heir poll, the heir is male you must have them either stargaze for a pregnancy or install Pregnancy for all Genders so that he can get pregnant. For full clarification of the rules of this mini-challenge please check out the original challenge's thread here. For the two rules that require a spouse, OFB's Robot Army Bonus and FT's Predestined Hobby Bonus, you may do the following: have a sibling of your choosing earn the gold talent badge, and reach level 10 in their predestined hobby along with your heiress. She needs back-up.

Family Scrapbook (10 Points)
Every member of the family must have either their picture taken, via photo booth, camera or printed in a family album, or their portrait painted or sketched with a draft table and hung somewhere about the house. You can choose the age or do multiple ages, take group shots or individual pictures, it's up to you. Your house must contain a picture of everyone that has ever lived in the house by the end of the challenge. Also, each generation, starting with the founder, must write one novel, to keep track of the family's memories. In total four novels must be written one by the founder and one by each of the three heirs (first gen, second gen, third gen).

Needle and Thread (10 Points)
[Free Time Required!] Before your Founder is allowed to move anyone on to the lot they must earn a Gold Talent badge in sewing and have sewn a Custom Outfit for both themselves to wear and the person they are about to move in to wear. Similarly they must have sewn a Custom Outfit for themselves before they become pregnant. Throughout the rest of the challenge a Custom Outfit must be sewn for each Sim that enters the household to wear and for each Sim to wear when they age transition. So when your first baby becomes a toddler your Founder must already have sewn a Custom Outfit for the toddler to wear, ditto with childhood and teenhood. You may not re-use outfits, everyone needs their own outfit sewn for them for each life stage, no hand-me-downs! This challenge only concerns Everyday wear, all other outfits may be bought or sewn as you see fit and worn by whomever, whenever.

Bug Me Not (10 Points)
[Free Time Required!] Each generation, starting from the birth of first generation, must have their very own Bug Nut. This Bug Nut can be a member of the bloodline, or a friend of the family. They must collect all 30 bugs and hang their collection on the wall. So you will have three Buggy Bug collections by the end of the challenge. Bugs bug them not. :P
Addendum: There is one butterfly that it is impossible to collect due to a bug in the buggy bug hunting coding. If you have collected 29 bugs and don't have that butterfly consider the collection finished. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

MOAR ALIENS aka Bitsy's Challenge (10 Points)
Every generation, starting from the birth of first generation, you must have an abduction result in an alien child. Any fertile male Sim may be abducted as part of this challenge as long as they give birth to the alien child in the household afterwards. If an heir is abducted their pregnancy may be considered one of the three mandatory pregnancies, and the child may be included in the BoolProp Naming Scheme and may be up for heirship. If you manage all three alien children for all three generations you win this challenge. Stargaze early, often and hard! You may have other abductions that do not result in alien children but only the ones that give you MOAR ALIENS count for this mini-challenge.

Witchy Good Time (10 Points)
Every generation must be a witch. Yeah, didn’t see that one coming, did you? One must be a Good Witch, one an Evil Witch, and one a Neutral Witch. When you have your Evil Witch, she must raise a zombie per spell. To do that, she must be high enough in evil magic. Her black bar must be peaked. Then you click on the tombstone you want resurrected. It will do the rest.

Super Mini-Challenges
Again take on as many or as few as you like.

MOAR ALIENS X-TREME (15 Points)
You must have an abduction once every generation from first through third generation in the exact same manner as MOAR ALIENS save for a few exceptions. You may not use Nightlife's Dance Sphere to obtain an abduction and you may not use Free Time's lifetime reward to Summon Aliens or the Science Hobby's Search for UFOs in order to obtain an abduction. You may do either MOAR ALIENS or the X-TREME version, but you may not do both.

Workaholics Anonymous (15 Points)
You must earn all of the career rewards for your EP set up before the end of the challenge. Anyone can earn a career reward: heir, spouse or family friend that you've moved in. But, one Sim may only earn a max of three career rewards.

Monster Mash (15 Points)
[At Least Two Expansion Packs Required!] You must collect all of the monsters for your EP set up using a Single Sim. For example, if you had all of the EPs, you would need to take an alien Sim and: kill him and rez him as a zombie, have him bitten by a vampire, have him build a servo, have him nibbled by a Leader of the Pack, have him become a PlantSim, get a Witch to show him the path of light/dark, have him bring home Big Foot and have him Rub the Lamp and summon the genie. Alternate plans can include having your Sim be abducted and give birth to an alien and be mauled by an already existing werewolf as long as that werewolf was obtained without cheats. Remove the steps for EPs you don't have, complete the steps for the EPs you do have, and you will have completed this mini-challenge!

Episode 57 - Care Home Challenge

Care Home Challenge
By Nicola Fieldsend (Sketty24)

BRIEF:
After the suspicious death of the late Mr. Darwin, the hospital officials have cut your benefit money, thus removing the only income your residential home had. They refuse to pay you any more money until you prove you can look after those Sims who are passing through to their older years. The task is to ensure that all your current patients die naturally in platinum. You will receive no more patients during this time.

Basic Objective: The elderly patients must die of old age in platinum. (Bonus for all 7 platinum deaths!)

SETUP:
Create a group of 7 unrelated elders Sims and 1 unrelated adult Sim (you!) For the 7 elders you can choose their name, gender, and their appearances but not their personality or aspiration. To decide this, you need a die. Assign them to each elderly patient using the rules below.

Aspiration
Roll the die once. The number will give you the Aspiration of the Sim.
1 ? Knowledge
2 ? Fortune
3 ? Romance
4 ? Popularity
5 ? Family
6 ? Pleasure

Personality
Roll the die once.
If the number is even (2,4,6) roll again to assign a personality from the first list of Zodiacs below.
If the number is odd (1,3,5) roll again to assign a personality from the second list of Zodiacs.

DO NOT CHANGE THE POINTS PRIOR TO ASSIGNING THE DEFAULT ZODIAC.

Even:
1 ? Aries
2 ? Taurus
3 ? Gemini
4 ? Cancer
5 ? Leo
6 ? Virgo

Odd:
1 ? Libra
2 ? Scorpio
3 ? Sagittarius
4 ? Capricorn
5 ? Aquarius
6 ? Pisces

For your doctor, the only adult Sim in the group, you can assign Aspiration and Personality as you wish, as well as all the other appearance aspects.

BUILDING:
You can use any lot size you wish or you can use a pre-made house (There are some good downloads out there!) You can build the care home with unlimited Simoleans, but before you play, use the familyfunds cheat to return your starting amount to 100 Simoleans. You cannot redesign the house once playing, so think about the layout carefully.

OBJECTS:
You can furnish the home with the unlimited Simoleans, also, but remember these guidelines:
- One single bed per elderly patient (you can choose if they sleep in the same room or have their own.) Once a patient dies, you must delete their bed.(You keep the money from the sale!)
- You can have a single or a double bed. No elders can share your doctor?s bed.
- You can only have 1 toilet, 1 sink and 1 bathtub/shower combination.
- Only 1 skill item per each skill type. This means you can only have either a chess table or a telescope, not both, as both improve the logic skill. It is suggested you pick the item for each skill wisely (some can make money!)
- You can have an unlimited amount of telephones, but due to drawbacks, you no longer can have a burgular alarm, a smoke detector or a sprinkler.
- You cannot have any aspiration/career rewards on the lot.

Once playing, you cannot add any more furniture/objects, nor upgrade. The only exception is to replace a stolen/repossessed item.

RULES:
- You can control all 8 Sims, but the 7 elderly patients cannot be directed to cook, clean, look after the garden or any other household work. They’re here to rest, not look after your residential home! You must cook their food, make their beds, clean their bathrooms, etc. (If an elder autonomously cooks/cleans, cancel their interaction. You can stop elders from cooking by placing the fridge only in a small room with a door locked to allow just you (OFB.). Set the counters outside the larder so the elders can pick up completed food autonomously.)
- With your money cut, you cannot afford a maid, a gardener, an exterminator, or a repairperson. You alone must look after the accommodation.
- You may only leave the care home to work. You need this extra job to earn money to look after your patients. You cannot visit downtown or any other community lot. You can also bring in money by painting, writing novels and busking outside the front of the care home to passer-bys.
- The elders cannot leave the care home. They are to spend their final days resting and being looked after by you, not attending discos!
- The elders cannot earn any money. They cannot work, write novels, or sell their paintings.
- Every Sim on the lot can skill build.
- You cannot use any game cheats during play.
- You can invite other Sims to the lot, make friends and even date (in the home,) but you cannot move in/marry any other Sims. Elders can invite friends over also, for visitors are allowed.
- Once the elder dies (platinum or no,) the tombstone must be left on the lot. You now have a haunted care home!
- Expansion pack wise – no pets, no cars, no aspiration/career rewards and no businesses! You can only earn money with a job/objects.

SCORING:
Once every elderly patient on the lot has peacefully (or not so) passed away, you have reached the end of your task. But, how successful have you been?

The Big Bonus: All 7 elderly patients died of old age and in platinum: 50 points.

- Each skill point your elders have achieved: + 2 points.
- Each friend your elders have: + 3 points.
- Each skill point you have achieved: + 3 points.
- Each friend you have: + 4 points.
- Never used influence: + 3 points.
- Each 1,000 aspiration points you have (round-up): + 1 point. (e.g. 10,000 = 10 points.)
- Each 1,000 Simoleans you hold at the end (round-up): + 1 point (e.g. 50,000 Simoleans = 50 points.)
- You reached the top of your career: + 10 points.
- Each platinum death: + 10 points.

- Each unnatural death (not old age): - 5 points.
- Each aspiration failure your elders had: - 5 points.
- Each aspiration failure you had: - 3 points.
- Each time the Repo Man comes: - 2 point.

OTHER:
You may wish to make your care home look more realistic by downloading custom content. (This is fun if you plan to make an album showing the progress of this challenge!) This does not add or take away any points. Custom content must not influence skill building or aspiration. They must be purely a replacement of another item (e.g. kitchen counter.)

Sim-wise, all content is allowed, you may wish for your Sim to dress as a doctor.

This is my first ever challenge, and is in need of testing, so let me know how you go, as well as your scores!

EPISODE55 - The Sims 2 Challenges - Abandoned Babes by Kttyb1959

ABANDONED BABES

In this challenge you will create a single adult Sim and move them into any house or lot. No money cheats are allowed, and no major behavioral cheats. Cheats that simply make your game less annoying are okay.

Your single adult... let's call him Dad... must leave $3000 in the bank after setting up house, so that he can immediately call for the adoption of an infant (no toddlers or children.) You will find it to your advantage later in the challenge to start out with an impoverished lifestyle, in a tiny, tiny house. Don't build or buy anything that you don't absolutely need.

Now that Dad has set up house, he should call for the adoption of an infant every day, for seven days in a row. (!) As soon as the oldest adopted child transitions from toddlerhood to childhood, Dad is going to have a very unfortunate accident. :( Be sure to have a nanny in the house at the time of his death, or the social worker will descend on these kids immediately! It is now up the child-age kids to keep a nanny in the house at all times, and since children are old enough to call for this service, it IS possible! Just be sure to keep track of the nanny's 8 hour shift, and overlap nanny shifts to be sure one is home when the other one leaves.

***Bene to deadlie10789 for pointing out this "Help With Birthday" problem: infants won't transition to toddlers without an adult or teen to help them. Consider this an added problem for the older children to deal with... they may have two or three infants hanging around the house for over a week! But once the oldest child ages to a teen, he or she will be able to help the younger ones move on.

Scoring is simple: there are a maximum of 21 points to be earned in this challenge, or 3 points per child. Give your Sim one point for each "Grew Up Well" transition. These occur when your Sim becomes a child, then a teen, and then an adult. You don't have to watch closely for these milestones, either, because they will be forever ingrained in their memories...

When your adopted children transition to teens, give each of them a different aspiration. The seventh child's aspiration will be your choice. (If you don't have Nightlife, the sixth child's aspiration is your choice as well.) When your teens transition to adults, they must immediately "Find Own Place". You may transition teens to young adults at University if it is within two days of their adult birthday.

You may not re-load the lot after bad events with one exception. If the social worker comes, thus ending your challenge, you may re-load and try again. So be careful when you choose to save the lot; just after a nanny arrives is a good choice.

The challenge ends when all seven adopted children have become adults or young adults, or when any or all of them are forever lost to the social worker!

Good luck and more importantly, have fun!

Episode 54 - String Me Challenge

String Me by ASimWen

A Game Challenge for The Sims 2

Ok, picture this. Your Sim gets out of his carpool at the end of the workday, and you hear the ‘Sim Got Promoted’ jingle. The pop up materializes, and tells you all about it. Yay! Your Sim is now at the top of his career, and in permanent platinum for the rest of his life. He has lead a good life. Plenty of dating, going downtown with friends and being a general party animal. Now it is time to settle down and get a spouse, maybe start a family, now that he is making good money. Oh but wait a minute. What’s this??? Something is missing! The skill bar showing how your Sim slaved skilling is nearly empty. No skills?? How did your Sim reach TOC without any skills?? Well, that is what this challenge is all about. Getting your Sim to the top of his/her career without skilling.

Okay, I will wait while you clean up the milk that just sputtered out of your nose and down into your keyboard. (ASimWen goes to her kitchen to check supper that is simmering). OK I am back. Ready to hear about this?

Yes, it is true. This can be done. I have played many different challenges, and most of them involve something with skilling or maxing skills. I realized I was very brainwashed when I would sit down to play the game and all I could think about was sitting my Sim children down to pour over a cookbook or getting them outside to run the obstacle course to gain skills. This challenge is ALL ABOUT working and gaining promotions and simoleons without skilling. I will give some tips at the end of this explanation on how to do it, but I will not tell all. I will leave some of it up to you to figure out.

First I will say all the aspirations in the game have been play tested by myself, my friend Just Lynn and her husband Ron. Yes, all aspirations, including Grilled Cheese Sims can be worked to TOC without earning skills.

Explanation / Goal

Why is this challenge called String Me? Because your Sim will rely on his coworkers to “Pull Strings At Work” and get him promoted. Yup. Your Sim will become a royal Suck Up. Ya know that irritating Sim who comes home in the carpool with your Sim? Yah…that coworker. Now you will want to see that guy or gal appear because that coworker will be responsible for your Sim’s future.

Starting Sim Life Skill-less

Okey dokey. Here we go.

If you want to play by chance, you may roll the aspiration for your Sim. If you are that confident that you can work a skill loving Knowledge Sim to TOC. If not, then here it is:

1. You may design your Sim in CAS with aspiration/personality that you think you can best play to the top. If you own Nightlife, you may choose the Turn Ons and Turn Off.

2. Your Sim can be poor or rich, that is, motherlode to your heart’s content. Starting from rags and ending up in riches is not the challenge here.

3. Your Sim can get a job from the computer. After all, if he has no skills, he will start at the bottom anyway. Using the computer gives you more daily options to choose from.

That is it. Easy set up, huh?

The Skilling Rules….kinda….

I do not hate challenge rules, but I don’t follow every single challenge rule when I do a challenge. So I wanna keep this simple. But a little something must be in place to give you an idea of my vision.

The Yes’s…

1. The “No Skilling” rule does not apply to the first skill needed for your Sim to promote. Your Sim MUST earn the first skill needed to promote. This ‘turns on’ the first promotion, and opens the door for a co worker to come home with him.

2. Your Sim MAY gain and keep skills awarded by the game through dating, outings, and chance cards.

3. Your Sim may earn skills he doesn’t need to promote with.

4. It is OKAY to reload the lot after a bad chance card. Oh here, lemme pat you on the back…sorry that made you choke with surprise….. There is one condition to this YES rule. You must have ‘saved’ the game when you get the pop up saying your Sim has to be at work in an hour, or the carpool will arrive in an hour. If you did not save the game, you must disregard the card. Even if you think you know the answer.

5. OK to give your Sim elixir.

The No’s………

1. No skills may be gained by your Sim from books, simvac, produce, (Seasons) listening to a Knowledge Sim ‘Impart Knowledge’ (Freetime) or other aspiration objects that is needed for his job. That is, (in case I left anything out) if your Sim has actively recruited the illegal skill, he can’t keep it.

2. Your Sim may not switch to a job for which he has physically earned skills. Example: your Sim is in the Athletic career, but has earned 10 cooking skills because he has a secret desire to become the second Rachel Ray. Your Sim cannot then switch to Culinary. If your Sim is offered a career switch by a townie (Apartment Life), your Sim must turn it down if he or she has already earned skills for it.

3. If your Sim needs cooking, cleaning, or mechanical for their career, he or she must influence other Sims to do these tasks, or hire it out. (maid, food delivery, repairman, butler).

4. A Sim must smooze only the co-worker that comes home in his own carpool. He cannot use a co worker in the carpool from a house mate.

Once your Sim reaches level five in his/her job, a career reward will be earned. Your target Sim may not use it, but anyone else in the household can. It must be placed within the house/lot in a place of high esteem where it can be noticed by all who live there or come to visit. After all, it was freely earned by being lazy. What Sim wouldn’t want to show that off?

Hacks, Cheats

Allowed:

Auto-Yak. I have never seen the point of making my Sim continually call back out repeatedly to the same Sim trying to befriend him / her. Warning: having this will ‘turn off’ the ability for your Popularity Sim to use the three way calling feature in the Freetime Lifetime Benefits. Unless Pescado has fixed that and I am behind the times.

Abduction Hacks

University Hacks, like the college clock

BoolProp to ‘force error’, moveobjects or any cheat to generally fix game hiccups

Not Allowed:

Any hack that will award skills or enhance moods or fill needs. For gosh sakes, use the energizer, and smooze your co worker.

Any hack that turns your Sim into a Plant Sim, Werewolf, Witch, or Vampire.

Boolprop to award skills or become pregnant, or to become a Plant Sim, Witch, Werewolf or Vampire.

Ways to Smooze your Co-Worker

Your Sim will smooze with his coworkers to get on their good side so the coworker will pull strings and get him promoted.

If you have it, use FreeTime’s new lifetime aspiration benefits. I found I used this heavily in testing. My friend’s husband, Ron, did not have Freetime and managed the Knowledge Sim. Want to play it ruff? Then don’t use it.

Nightlife’s dating. It is handy dandy for keeping your Sim in a good mood. Ummmm…maybe for dating the coworker???? Also, for going on scored outings with your coworker.

Now, not all promotions will come from your co worker. You will find that since your Sim isn’t skilling, the game will step up the number of chance cards you get. Yep. I actually saw a couple I had never seen before.

If you don’t have these EP’s? Good luck. Try it and let me know.

Summary: Your Sim will promote by chance cards, and by String Pulling. If you have the EP Apartment Life, there is a chance your Sim can get offered a promotion from random Townies they befriend.

EP Modules

This challenge is hard enough with just developing string pulling. But if you would like a little spice on the side, here are some mix and match modules you may include, or not, in your challenge.

1. University – Your target Sim is not only a sloafer sponging off his coworker, he is also a parent. His child goes off to college, graduates, returns home and gets a job in Natural Science. The child earns the cowplant, which one day is left unattended in the yard. One of your target Sim’s hungry co-workers comes by one day and tries to get that piece of cake…..

a. If your target Sim is male, he must adopt a baby. If he doesn’t need logic for his job, he may be abducted.

b. If your target Sim is female, she must get pregnant by (first choice) a male co worker, or if none available, an NPC.

2. Nightlife – Your Sim’s co worker simply adores vampires. Your target Sim thinks to do his co worker a favor and introduces him to the Count or Countess. Alas, the co-worker gets bitten…….and somehow doesn’t make it home before sunrise.

3. Open For Business – Your target Sim loves to build, and has managed to create a Servo. He activates the Servo, who promptly gets a job in the same field as his creator. The Servo then ‘gets his own place’ and becomes a co worker of the target Sim by coming home with him in the carpool. (cannot do if your Sim needs mechanical for his job)

4. Pets – Your target Sim loves doggies or kitties. He manages to adopt 2 strays and breed them. He then gives the entire litter to his co worker as a thank you gift for helping him work up through the ranks.

5. Seasons – Your target Sim loves to garden, but neglected to put out the lady bug nests that keep the bugs away. Oops! Before you know it, your target Sim has become a Plant Sim and has spored a plant baby. The plant baby grows up to eventually get a job in the same field as his/her parent, and ‘gets his own place’. He comes home in the car pool and becomes a co worker of his parent.

6. Bon Voyage – The target Sim is especially grateful to his co worker for assisting him in climbing the ladder of success at XYZ company. As a thank you, the target Sim takes his co worker on vacation where he manages to show is co worker a good time by collecting all the vacation momentos that are indigenous to one of the vacation spots. (That is, no general vacation memories count) All eligible trinkets and souvenirs are also proudly displayed on a shelf in the target Sim’s home, and a photo album is made depicting all the snapshots taken to preserve memories.

7. Free time – Choose a hobby your target Sim can do that doesn’t interfere with proper skilling. Your target Sim makes some sort of arts and crafts item, such is in sewing or tinkering and presents it to his co worker as a thank you gift. But only the top of the line items will do. Such as a pitcher that was thrown on the pottery wheel. No lower end pieces allowed.

8. Apartment Life – Your target Sim loves to delve into the world of magic. He or she has befriended the Head NPC Witch and manages to convince her to work her spell and get themselves turned into a witch too. Your Sim then becomes a full fledged witch, and turns her or his favorite co-worker into one as well.

Scoring

I tend not to like scoring systems. This challenge is mostly about bragging rights. But here are a couple of things for you bean counters out there to keep track of for posterity’s sake. And, no point deductions for not sticking to the rules or playing badly. It is all positive reinforcement here.

After reaching TOC, give yourself 1 pt for each day left until elder hood is reached. If you used elixir, forget this.

1 point for each promotion your Sim gets from his Servo or PlantSim child.

5 pts if reaching TOC which also fulfilled your Sims’ LTW.

5 pts for each EP module successfully completed

10 pts if your Sim builds a ‘trophy room’ to show off all his date and outings gifts that his coworkers will sneak by and leave on his front steps. The freely earned career reward may be placed here.

10 pts for reaching your Sim’s LTW if it wasn’t career inspired.

15 pts if you stuck to the approved hacks list.

When To Change The LTW

If you want your Knowledge Sim to have a shot at fulfilling his LTW, you may use the method of your choice to change it only if his LTW is ‘Max All Skills’. Change it only once.

This is the only time you may change the LTW. Tuff if you have a Popularity Sim who wants to befriend 20 animals.

CAVEATS

1. Having Freetime can be a help or a hindrance. Once your Sim’s lifetime meter maxes out, the free promotions seem to stop. So don’t do anything that will make that move a lot. The more time your Sim spends in Platinum aspiration, the quicker this fills up.

2. Mean Sims tend not to pull strings. Don’t depend on Benjamin Long to help your target Sim out.

3. Elder hood seems to stop the free promotions too.

4. Not every aspiration is played the same way. What ever worked for a Popularity Sim, will not work for a Fortune Sim.

5. From my experience, the newer careers do not have townies automatically assigned to them like the older ones do. Either play this in an established hood where you already have Sims working in the new career fields who can be brought home as co workers, or simply work your Sim in one of the older careers. But then you might have to give up the points for reaching TOC that is also his LTW.

I love to read Sim blogs. If you happen to try this challenge and happen to blog it, email me at asimwen(at)gmail.com, and I will come take a look and leave comments. Have fun.

EPISODE53 - The Sims 2 Challenges - 101 Dalmatians

BBS Thread

Firstly, a special thanks to my friend Emily who helped me create this challenge. (I haven't got Pets yet by the way so sorry if I made some mistakes - please correct me!)

Please read the rules and give it a go! Tell me any comments too!

AIM: To breed 101 dalmation puppies!

HOW TO BEGIN:

1) Create a family. Create them however you want - it's not very important. (One tip - you might want to start with a small family of one or two because you need room in your household for all the puppies)

2) Move them into a house or empty lot and furnish the house. You will probably need to save up to furnish it well for your pet friends!)

3) Buy or go into create-a-pet and make two dalmations - one male and the other female.

4) Make sure the two dalmations are living with your family.

5) Get your female dalmation pregnant.

6) When the puppies arrive give them names. (I suggest unique names you can remember easily)

7) Paint a portrait of each new puppy when they are little puppies and hang them all on the walls.

8) When you have a certain amount of pets living with your family you will have to sell some to make room for more of the puppies!

9) When you have painted and hung up the last portrait of the 101th puppy - you're done!

RULES:

- You can use the Kibble of Life 2x - any uses after that will result ina penalty
- No cheats - (including boolprop and aging off) except kaching (each time you use it you lose 1 point)
- You must paint a portrait of every puppy
- You can exit the lot without saving if something drastic happens (e.g. someone is killed etc.)
- No building cheats
- You can't use the same puppy name more than once
- The 101 puppies must have the same mother and father
- You can change the sim family your pets live with
- For every pet or human that dies there's a penatly of 1 point
- You may use the antique camera instead of painting a portrait but you will have to earn it

POINTS:

+3 points for every puppy born
-1 point for every cheat used
-1 point for everytime you exit without saving unnecessarily
+1 point for every portrait of your puppy a sim in the household paints/or a photograph taken by a sim in the household using the antique camera and is hung up
-half a point for every puppy or sim that becomes ill
-1 point everytime the sim therapist visits
-1 point for everytime the social bunny visits
-2 points for every puppy trained by a pet trainer
+4 for every Lifetime Want fufilled
- 3 points for every use of the Kibble Of Life after the limit of twice

TIPS:

1) Make a small sim family so that you have maximum room for puppies
2) Get one or more of your sims a good job before you start breeding the puppies
3) Deal with needs before aspirations
4) Budget well
5) Build creative skills for one or more sim before you start breeding so that they can paint the puppies' portraits
6) Don't rush - things are a lot easier if you relax
7) Train all your puppies yourself so that they don't run amock!
8) Try and get a young dalmation couple so they have plenty of life span to make puppies!
9) Feel free to make selling your puppies a business (if you have Open For Business) - but it may be more demanding
10) Don't make you sim family's lives to complicated - it will just make you more stressed
11) Get a pair of young dalmations to breed all the puppies so they have the maximum amount of breeding time.

CREATED BY MAID_MARIA1 - please don't steal my idea

Please give this challegne a go and give me some feedback.
This is my first challenge and I hope you like it.

If you have any questions or comments - please sign my guestbook!

Thanks a lot and enjoy this challenge - when I get Pets I'll try it myself. (It comes out on Friday in the UK)

Episode 52 - Seven Deadly Sims

-Edited for Pets.-

Basics:
You begin with one adult sim. S/he is of no fixed sin, but his/her children will be. The beginning sim will only need to obey the base rules, and help the children with the personality or body shape changes. This challenge can last up to eight generations, if you want to give each sin full time, and can be bothered to play that long. Or, you can have multiple sins in one generation (Ex. Lust sister with a Gluttony brother). The challenge is over when all seven sins have lived out their lives, and the last one dies.

Rules:
You may find the sin's spouses. They serve as a demi-sin, which means they must also obey the rules, and can earn points and penalties. Some sins might require this (ex. You have a female Envy, and wish to earn alien nooboo points. Envy's husband/lover may earn these points.)
If a sim is not intended to be a sin, they will not be able to earn any points, or penalties, and must be moved out as soon as they are adults (or before).
You do not have to name the sims you intend to use as a sin after their vice. You may name your sims how you like.
Your sims may not move out, and back in again, and one may go to university. Just one, in the entire challenge.
You do not have to roll for aspiration. If you have a sim you know would make a good Pride, you may make that sim family when they turn teen. You may not change aspiration after this, unless it is to make a Grilled Cheese sim.
If you do not have Nightlife, it is slightly pointless to try this challenge, but you can replace Pleasure with another Romance, and Grilled Cheese with whatever.
Use your common sense. If you cannot do part of the challenge due to lack of an expansion pack, ignore it.

Base points:
+1 for using an NPC or Simself (I wrote this rule simply because I want to use simselves, but don't want to miss out on a point).
+1 for every child born.
+1 for every platinum grave.
+5 for getting all ghost colours.
+5 for every roof-raiser party that is not busted by the cops.
+10 for starting and maintaining a business throughout the challenge.
+10 for finishing the challenge.
-1 for every child taken away.
-1 for every aspiration failure.

Uni points:
These are in addition to obeying your sin rules.
+1 for being on the Dean's list every year.
+1 for getting into the Secret Society.
+2 if you never write a term paper or do an assignment.
+2 for earning over 25,000.
+2 for graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
-1 for getting busted over grade hacking.
-1 for attending every class. (Per semester).
-5 for going on probation.

[u}Nightlife points:
+1 for every good date (must be first date only).
+1 for every negative chemistry good date (in addition to above point).
+2 for every sim who is bitten by a vampire.
-1 for every flaming bag, or smelly letter.
-2 for every potion bought.

Business point
+1 for every good review.
+2 for every business above rank 5.
+2 for every robot crafted. They may not be sold, but placed in an inventory
+5 if anyone earns all the business perks, and passes them on.
-1 for every bad review.
-2 for everyone who gets in a fight on your business lot.

Pets points:
If you are feeling a little masochistic, you can do the challenge with pets as well.
Base pet points:
+1 for every pet grave.
+1 for every sim who has been bitten by a wolf.
+1 for having only one type of pet. For example, just cats or just dogs. To earn this point, every time the opposite pet enters the lot, it must be shooed off. If you have chosen cats, you may still allow the wolves on the lot.
-1 for every pet who runs away.
-1 for every pet who dies in a manner other than old age.

Bonus points
These are optional. You can pick and choose which ones you want to do. Each one is worth five points, unless stated otherwise. They are counted at the end of the challenge.

Seven Sins:
All points in these categories are in addition to base points.

Lust: (Romance)
Strong desire without idealized or spiritualized feelings.
Bonus point available: When woohooing all those people, roll a dice. If it lands on a six, you must try for a baby. If your sim is male, roll again. If it lands on an even number, you must impregnate him.
+1 for every woohoo partner.
+1 for every lover.
+1 for every 3LB lover. (In addition to every lover points.
+2 for every lover who is married. (This means you could get four points for a lover who is married, but you have 3LB with. Five, if there is woohoo.)
+2 for completing a non-career related LTW
+2 for a child being encouraged to full outgoing before teen.
-1 when the sim gets caught cheating
-1 for every day after adulthood that the sim has not had their first woohoo

Gluttony: (Grilled Cheese)
Excessive eating and drinking
Bonus: Midnight snack. Every night, s/he will have a meal at midnight. Even as a baby and toddler, they will be fed at midnight. If they ever miss their meal, you have lost the bonus point.
+1 for marrying a food delivery NPC (Groceries, Pizza, Chinese).
+1 if the sim becomes overweight as a child, and never becomes fit.
+1 if the sim becomes a celebrity chef
+1 if their pet always has a full bowl.
+1 if they can keep a bird alive for their entire adulthood.
+2 if the sim has full body points but no fitness.
+2 if the sim only ever eats grilled cheese after becoming a child.
+2 for reaching their LTW
+3 for a fridge in every room.
-1 for every day the sim remains thin or fit. (After teen)
-1 for every time the sim gets food poisoning.
-2 if the sim dies of starvation.

Greed (Wealth)
Excessive desire for material wealth or gain
Bonus: Hire the daily services (maid, gardener, nanny), and tip them 100 every day. If you fail to tip them, or do not hire them all by the first day of being a teenager, you have lost the point.
+1 for marrying Mr Big or the Diva.
+1 if the sim is bought everything they want. (Ex. In the morning, Sally Sim wants a table, a statue, a car and to go to work, buy her the three items, and that counts for the day. If every day, Sally gets the items she wants, at her death you can count the point.)
+1 if the sim becomes a Business Tycoon
+1 for every pet Greed owns that reaches the top of their career.
+2 if the sim earns 100,000
+2 if the sim does not work for their money (Ex. Selling other sims' paintings.)
-2 every time the repo man takes something.
-2 if the sim gets crushed by a satellite, or drowns in a pool.

Sloth (Pleasure)
Habitual laziness, failure to pursue virtue.
Bonus: If you choose this sim to go to uni, they never do anything to boost their grade themselves, and don't earn any scholarships. If they earn any scholarships, or do any of their own work, you have lost the points.
+1 for marrying the slob.
+1 if a child is encouraged into laziness before they hit teen
+1 if, as a child, they never do their homework.
+1 for every dream date with a sim who wanders onto the lot.
+1 if they have a double bed to themselves.
+2 if the sim never gets a job. (Married in sims must quit before earning money from their career)
+2 if the sim never cooks, cleans or gardens. (If they are spotted doing so, they must be stopped immediately)
-1 if they ever leave the lot (except if you choose him/her for your uni sim).
-1 if they get to full fitness, ever.
-2 if the sim gets to the top of a career
-2 if they are made to use the pool, assault course, or exercise equipment.

Wrath (Popularity)
Rage, or anger towards others.
Bonus: Your sim makes a new friend everyday. However, if you make more than one in one day, you can use that for a day. For example, Anger makes three friends on Monday. On Tuesday, she makes none. You can count one of the Monday friends as Tuesday's. If you fail to do so, you have lost the points.
+1 for every three friends the sim manages to get while s/he has no nice points.
+1 if a child is encouraged into meanness before they hit teen.
